Make a sphere and wrap it around with some Text.

Let's Learn how to make sphere and wrap it around with some Text. I used photoshop filter techniques like 3D transform, polar coordinates etc.

1. First of all open a new document. I used 300 by 300 pxiels with resolution 96. but you may choose different depending on what you are going to use it for.

2. With the help of Text Tool, type any words. I picked the phrase "Around the world". oh well, technically it is just a shpere. whatever...you get the idea.

3. Select the Layer T which is our text layer and double click on it and select Stroke.

4. Now take a look below and adjust all the properties like size, positon, blend mode capacity in the Stroke Structure. I have used size equal to 2 pixels, Position equal to Outside, Blend mode is equal to normal, Opacity is equal to 100%. Fill type is color and the color I have chosen is black.

 

5. Now select Filter > select Distort > select Polar Coordinates > click ok. Pretty siimple so far, huh..

6. Now select Layer1.

7. Here again select Filter > select Render > select 3D Transform.

8. After 3D Transform, now with the help of Sphere Tool create a shape as shown below. Now with Track ball Tool give movement to the shape. Click ok.

 

9. Now we have to put the Text Layer on our shpere so drag the Text Layer(Around the world ) on the Layer1 which is shpere. See below.

10. Now our image will look like this.

11. Here select the Text Layer and put the Text Layer on the sphere the way you want while pressing ctrl. You will have stretch the text layer and do some adjustment to make it look like it is around the sphere. Press Enter when you are satisfied.

12. Here you have to make the selection with the Pen Toolas shown below press the Delete key. This step will scrape off the extra text and hide it behind the shpere. See below to understand what I mean.

13. Now Double click on the Text Layer and select Drop Shadow. Adjust Structure and Quality in the Drop Shadow as shown below and click ok. This step will create the shadow of the text.

14. Now select Layer1 and select Drop Shadow, and adjust Structure and Quality with the help of image below. This step will create the shadow of the sphere.
